War Child: 1Love ist ein Charity-Sampler der Organisation "War Child". Auf dem Sampler covern britische Indie-Bands Number One-Hits der UK-Charts. Die Organisation hat 1995 und 2005 außerdem zwei weitere (weitaus bekanntere) Cover-Kompilationen veröffentlicht, nämlich The Help Album und Help: A Day in the Life.
Der NME half übrigens beim Zustandekommen der Kompilation und feierte damit gleichzeitig sein 50-jähriges Bestehen.
Besonders hervorzuheben ist unter den Neuinterpretationen Jimmy Eat Worlds Version von "Firestarter", welche das Orginal zu einer zerbrechlichen Indie-Pop-Ballade macht.
