Bandgeschichte
Rob Fisk und Greg Saunier gründen Deerhoof 1994 und veröffentlichen ab 1995 erste Singles. 1996 kommt Satomi Matsuzaki als Sängerin dazu, weitere Musiker sind nur kurzzeitig Mitglieder. 1997 erscheint mit "The Man, the King, the Girl" das erste von einer Vielzahl von Alben bei Kill Rock Stars. Nach dem zweiten Album "Holdy Paws" steigt Rob Fisk 1999 aus und John Dieterich kommt neu dazu, wobei das dritte Album "Halfbird" schon vor seinem Eintritt aufgenommen wird, aber erst 2001 erscheint. "Reveille" (2002) und "Apple O'" (2003) bekommen gute Kritiken, ebenso wie das 2004er Album "Milk Man". 2005 geht die Band auf eine große Welttournee und veröffentlicht das Album "The Runners Four". Mit Filmkomponist Edward Shearmur machen sie die Musik für den Film "Dedication" und veröffentlichten 2007 das Album "Friend Opportunity".
