Beschäftigt man sich mit Blumen jenseits ihrer ästhetischen Anmut und ihres ökologischen Nutzens, landet man unweigerlich in der Politik. Trägt man zum Beispiel ständig eine blaue Kornblume am Revers, könnten zumindest in Deutschland die Einladungen zu national gesinnten Treffen zunehmen, während ihr in anderen Teilen der Welt auch vollkommen andere Symbolkräfte unterstellt werden. Es hängt alles davon ab, welche Gruppierung wann welches Gewächs in ihrem Wappen oder auf ihrer Fahne verwendet hat und ob der historische Kontext noch besteht. So gesehen ist die Flower Power immer für eine Überraschung gut.
