Biographie
Ek beginnt in den 90ern in Seattle als Tontechniker in Clubs und beginnt später damit Demos für lokale Bands aufzunehmen. Er assistiert häufig Jack Endino und arbeitet ab 1993 bei Up Records. Bekannt wird er als Produzent für Built to Spill und arbeitet danach mit einer Vielzahl bekannter Bands, u.a. The Shins, Les Savy Fav, Modest Mouse, Fleet Foxes und Band of Horses.
